Witness our passion for the grandeur of nature. At Herdade de Maroteira, we develop the entire viticultural process in the most sustainable way.

Our commitment is to respect the soil and the environment, promoting biodiversity and minimally intervening in the natural process, in the vineyard and in the winery. We vinify up to 300,000 litres (80,000 gal) of wine, in a venue idealised from conception to also be the stage for wine tastings.

This is where we welcome you, wine connoisseur and lover of the nectar of the gods. Enjoy a full experience starting from the terroir of our grapes, getting to know the vineyards, then the winery and tasting our wines.

  • We signed up for the walking/hiking tour and had a blast! José was our guide (along with the dogs!) and provided a fun and informative tour of the farm and cork industry. We learned a lot and now have a greater appreciation for the work that goes on at this farm. We did a small wine tasting at the end of our walk which was a nice treat. We spent two weeks touring through Portugal and this experience ended up towards the top of our list. If you are in the area we highly recommend you take the walking tour and spend a few hours on the farm and support the industry.

  • My wife and I went on a tour with our guide. Incredible property. We learned all about the growing and stripping of the trees, AMAZING! The farm owners also make their own wine! After our tour we were met with 3 wines and a platter of local cheese and Iberian Ham which were all fantastic. It did not stop there. After our "Appetizers", we were taken to a local restaurant where the staff just kept bringing local specialties. I can't say enough about our experience - This is a must do!! Thank you for such a great experience.

  • Friends, the Herdade da Maroteira Wine Tasting is an excellent activity to do in group or with the family. The venue is very pleasant, it makes you feel very comfortable, and the excellent wines produced with the best grapes of the estate are the starting point for an interesting conversation that leads to a detailed knowledge of the production processes, from planting the vines to the opening of the finest bottles of Cem Reis and Dez Tostões. I recommend it to lovers and true connoisseurs of good wines.
